After nearly two decades of being left in arcade obscurity, The Simpsons Arcade Game has finally been released for home consoles. I have fond memories playing this machine when I was much younger, and that was even if I could find it. To the best of my knowledge, this was a rather rare cabinet to find sitting in an arcade. But if you did find one, you bet your ass someone was playing as Marge, Bart, Lisa, or Homer and enjoying themselves. I’ve uploaded some videos of my playthrough of the game, and have put them here for your viewing pleasure. Sit back and enjoy, and don’t have a cow, man!

Hell yeah! So happy this was finally re-released. I’m waiting for the free version for PS+ users so I can finally play it again. It will be nice to not have to go through a roll of quarters to finish it, heh.

That’s for sure. They added a limited continue mode to the game too (along with Freeplay), so if you want to try to see how far you can go with limited credits you still can.

I think the only simpsons game that beats this one out is Hit&Run, what do you think?

Yeah, I’ve played Hit & Run. It actually is a very fun game! And it could give this one a run for it’s money, you’re right about that!
