It’s been a busy week, but not so much in terms of gaming. Scratch that, I’ve actually clocked in quite a bit of time in games this week, but most of that has gone into Diablo III, which is every bit worth my time as anything else.
My sole game purchase this week came in the form of a new game to review. It’s my first movie-based game I’ve had the chance to review. That being said, my expectations weren’t high.
Men In Black: Alien Crisis
PlayStation 3
Release Date: May 22nd, 2012
Purchased at: GameStop (Michigan City, IN – $60)
Alien Crisis is a tie-in with the recently released film Men In Black 3. It has nothing to do with the new movie or any other movie in the franchise for that matter, minus a reference to Agents J and K and of course the MIB universe. Alien Crisis is an on-rails shooter that is meant to be played with the Move controller, which I unfortunately don’t have. Still though, you can “enjoy” the game with a conventional PS3 controller, but the camera and jittery controls will definitely hamper your experiences. I’ve already played through the game, so expect a full review soon. |

Actually watching GiantBomb play this game right now. It seems decent for what it is – a light gun game because I mean, who makes those anymore? – but sixty dollars is a lot for a short, low-quality, game.

$60 for a low quality game isn’t a good deal any way you cut it.

This is true.

I think games of this caliber, or movie tie-ins in general, should get a price cut. More people would probably be inclined to check something like this out if it were $40 instead of $60.

That’s actually a really good idea. They’re supposed to be a compliment to the movie anyway, so why should they be full price?
But the game did come with a free $10 movie pass to see MIB3 in theaters. So that’s good…
