This Week in Gaming News: 6/23/12 – 6/29/12

What’s new this week in games? How about some more Left 4 Dead 2 DLC? Or better yet, a brand new Team Fortress 2 video? And what’s that you say? A new Pokemon game that’s not Black Version 2 or White Version 2? And it sounds interesting to boot? Hmm, I think you’d better read more to get all this week’s news…

Review: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

Bruce Wayne wins the Man of the Year award and, wouldn’t you know it, things couldn’t get any worse for the citizens of Gotham. The latest iteration of Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO series of video games is more than most other titles in the series. Not only does LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes feature the Dark Knight and the Boy Wonder, but it also has Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, and plenty of other DC superstars as playable characters, each with their own set of powers and abilities. Couple the playable characters with a good, funny story and solid cooperative play, and LEGO Batman 2 is a hit for gamers of all ages. Read the rest of this entry »

Sunday Roundup: 6/24/12

Just one game this week, but it’s been a good one so far. I’ve only had a small bit of experience with the LEGO series, but what I have seen and played I really enjoyed. For that reason I was more than happy to pick this one up for review this week.

Review: Pokemon Conquest

Swap out your pokedex for a katana and get ready for Pokemon Conquest, the newest game in the Pokemon series for the Nintendo DS. A crossover title incorporating the playful cheeriness of Pokemon with the tactical warmongering of Nobunaga’s Ambition, Pokemon Conquest hits all the right notes to deliver a satisfying strategy game for hardcore gamers, Poke-addicts, and newcomers alike. And to answer your question, no, you can’t cut Pikachu up to a bloody mess with twin katanas.

Sunday Roundup: 6/17/12

And then some more for good measure.

As stated last week, I was just one game away from making it to 1000 games in my ever-expanding collection of games-I-hope-to-play-someday-but-will-likely-never-get-around-to-playing. Well this week that milestone was finally, after 10 years of collecting, achieved. And here they are…

This Week in Gaming News: 6/9/12 – 6/15/12

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Man, I wish I could just skip out on playing the game for hours on end and just buy the best items in the game!” Well this week Blizzard makes your wishes come true with the Diablo III real money auction house!

Outside of video game economic news, there’s a nifty new gaming trivia site out there, as well as an equally nifty online 90’s gaming quiz. Oh, and something concerning the Left 4 Dead series
