Slick Anthology Is Live (But Still A Work In Progress)

I had a lot of ambition when I first started this blog back in 2011, but I couldn’t quite fit everything I wanted to do in just this one blog. So instead of having this blog be all over the place and not focused on game reviews, articles, news, and videos, I decided to make a new, separate blog that would focus entirely on my game collection.

Slick Anthology is a blog that collects each game in my own personal video game catalog. Serving as both an online log for myself and a place where gamers can go to learn a little bit about the games and discover a game or two they may not have known about, Slick Anthology is shaping up to be exactly what I wanted it to be. Every game will have it’s own dedicated page, as well as links to purchase the game yourself, read my reviews and comments about the game, and even link to any relevant videos or articles I’ve written concerning each title.

As I said before, it’s still a work in progress, but I’m happy to unveil it to you all now. Head on over to Slick Anthology and follow the blog if you’d like to see my collection grow and want to know every game I have.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the new blog!

Review: Unchained Blades

Unchained Blades CoverDon’t you just hate it when you get into a fight with a goddess and she turns your once supreme dragon body into that of a whiny, pathetic human? As ridiculous as it may sound, that’s just what happens in Unchained Blades, a new dungeon crawler for the Nintendo 3DS available exclusively through the online eShop. Intense grinding, a focus on character development, and a dull story keep Unchained Blades from being anything other than mediocre and a game that will only resonate with a precise crowd.

Vault Play: Parappa the Rapper

Parappa the Rapper PS1 CoverPerhaps you’re newer to games, with “new” meaning you started playing games in the 2000s or later. If you fall into this category you might be wondering where the hell all these so-called “All-Stars” are coming from in the PlayStation 3’s mascot-fueled brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. You’ve got a God, some treasure hunter with a few guns, a devious raccoon, a scary looking clown, and a dog that can rap. That’s right, a dog that can rap! Man, you’ve got to love gaming in the 90s.

Episode 006 LogoEpisode 6 of the Recurring Bosscast is now live!

After Jett, Mat, and myself all had fantastic Christmas’, we decided to chat it up about, what else, video games! We were all blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives that not only understood our love of games, but also delved deep into their pockets and gave us the gift of game!

I played and finished The Walking Dead, Mat throws down some knowledge on The Simpson’s: Tapped Out, and Jett is all about XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Gaming News: 1/5/13

Ouya Home ScreenWhat does the first week of the new year have in store for video games?

Not too much, actually. Only a few stories tickled my fancy this week, and even those weren’t as grand as expected. I guess I was hoping 2013 would start out with some crazy cool announcement. Hmm… maybe later this year we will finally get Power Stone 3.

One can hope… Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Cover 2You have to give credit to a series being around for 25 years. Mario, Link, Mega Man, the Street Fighter gang, and even Kirby have been around for well over 20 years. And then there’s Final Fantasy. A series whose very name implies there will only be one, yet a series that has been in gamers’ hearts for 25 years. 25 years of games means 25 years of music, and that’s saying a lot for a series as respected as Final Fantasy. To celebrate the quarter century mark for the franchise, Square Enix released Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy. Bringing together the heroes of all 13 numbered games in the series and infusing the gameplay with plenty of music and rhythmical action, Theatrhythm is a love letter to Final Fantasy fans. It also happens to be one of the better games on the 3DS. Read the rest of this entry »
