Another year is coming to an end, and with it a great assortment of new games added to the collection. This year was a lot more memorable than the previous years, mainly because I was actually able to play a lot of the new games that came out! Just check out my Top Ten Games of 2015 and see what I mean! 2015 Was also the year I really got to enjoy my PS4! I’m looking forward to what the next year has in store for Sony’s home console. And who could forget the Wii U! Haters gonna hate, but I still love that system, and this year saw several great titles added to Nintendo’s black box. The 3DS is still going strong, and the next game I’m most excited for in 2016 happens to be for the 3DS (Fire Emblem: Fates!!). I never mentioned it before (or at least I can’t recall if I have), but this year also happened to be the year I surpassed 2,000 games in the collection! Yay for game collecting but boo for my aching wallet! Just like last year, instead of doing a complete rundown of all the games of 2015, here are the top ten best games I found last year!

Nintendo is synonymous with the video game industry. For decades now, lots of folk have been calling video games in general Nintendo games, despite the games they’re sometimes referencing are exclusive to consoles other than Nintendo’s. You don’t become that iconic without a handful of recognizable and influential series’ and characters under your belt. Nintendo’s got tons of big hitters, not the least of which being the red capped Mario and pals, Pikachu and the other hundreds of Pokemon, and the epic adventures of a young boy named Link, but they’ve also got some other franchises that for whatever reason just don’t get enough love. Included in this list are the games that Nintendo seems to have forgot they made. For every one of these games we got 10 Mario’s. With the 3DS and Wii U bringing back a good amount of old classics like Star Fox and Fire Emblem, here’s hoping the ten following entries will see some love from Nintendo in the near future.
This past weekend I was finally able to make it to the De Anza College Flea Market! It is held every first Saturday of the month, and I’ve been consistently coming up with reasons why I can’t make it! Laura and I would literally be planning on going one weekend, and then something would come up and cause us not to make it. Thankfully this month we had the backing of Laura’s sister and our friend who wanted to go too, cementing our trip! I went into the flea market hoping to find games (naturally) but was really looking for something extraordinary to make the whole trip worthwhile. There were some good finds, some busted haggles, and, if you can believe it, an extraordinary find! Read the rest of this entry »
Combining two weeks of Roundups today because I’ve been so busy with work, going to an anime convention the past weekend, and having family visit from out of state! I’ve still managed to fit in some quality game shopping time (and plenty of time with Splatoon!), and even came across a few great finds at Goodwill as well! Let’s get right into it. I can officially say the craziness of the eBay auctions has officially ended this week. The last couple of orders have come in, and there is only one more game that I’ve ordered that I’m waiting on (which should have been here by now, because I ordered it well over two weeks ago). This week was also special because a coworker of mine actually gave me some of her old, albeit beat up, Sega Saturn games! And Laura and I made a trip to San Jose we don’t commonly make, and I was able to secure a copy of a game to finish up a DS trilogy. All around a fun week in collecting! Read the rest of this entry »
After a small vacation last weekend, I’ve combined two weeks worth of games for this Roundup. And to justify why there are so many games this week so I don’t feel too bad about myself, after the previous Roundup I also happened to buy some games, so really… it’s three week’s worth of games. That makes this massive pile of games more reasonable sounding, right?
Usually within a week I grab a few games from one, maybe two locations. But this week I was able to pick up a bunch of games from a lot of different places! GameStop, Amazon, another GameStop, and a trio of games from eBay! And, of course, seeing as this is “Smash Bros. Week”, I had to pick up my copy of Super Smash Bros for 3DS last Friday. It’s what I have been sinking all of my time into, so much so that I actually developed a small sore on the right thumb! Anyhow, if I have any luck, I’ll try to hit up a different GameStop today, one that I usually have good luck with and one that I don’t get to frequent all too often. So here we go. All kinds of craziness this week and last has lead to me not only getting a ton of new video games, but also having no time at all to post about them! Lucky for you, faithful readers, I’ll be posting two Sunday Roundups this week! On another side note, I realized after setting up my photography studio thingy that I missed five games to include in this week’s collection picture to the left! I’ve added them down below, but just a heads up. Also, this week, and especially next, i picked up a ton of games from eBay. Usually I swear of the site, but for the past few months (maybe even a year or so) I’ve been awfully dry in the game collecting market. I decided to take a stab at securing some of those harder to find titles online, and I was met with great success! Unfortunately, now that means I’m going to be shopping/wasting money on eBay more frequently now, which isn’t the best thing to happen… Read the rest of this entry »
Admittedly, I don’t get around to all that many garage sales. I really enjoy going out and trying to find treasures in some other person’s trash, but getting time off from work and actually having the day set aside to do so is harder than it sounds. But last week the deal-finding stars aligned, and Laura and I were able to hit up a few garage sales! We were in search of a new-old computer desk (which we did end up finding, although via Craigslist), but that didn’t mean I wasn’t keeping an eye out for games. Though nothing too crazy on this find, it only solidified in my mind that garage sales are a legitimate means to pick up a ton of games on the cheap! Read the rest of this entry »
