Sunday Roundup: 11/20/11 (The Monday Edition!)

Now that’s more like it.

A great haul this week, spanning from the PS1, PS2, and the Xbox 360.

I love it when I get a great deal on a lot of games.

Gameplay Vault: X-Men: Children of the Atom

I finally got some play time in with this classic. Initial reports weren’t as expected.

Worth Playing vol. 1

There’s way too many video games to play. Way too many. While everyone will undoubtedly have their favorites there are certain games that might get passed by that shouldn’t have. Maybe it’s a game that came out while another, bigger game was released. Or perhaps its something you’ve just completely overlooked altogether. In the first volume of Worth Playing I’m looking at a few games that may or may not have flew under your radar but should be considered regardless. Let’s get going.

Sunday Roundup: 10/23/11

Just two new games this week. I have been on a serious Spyro kick lately: I’ve bought about seven Spyro games in the last three months. Oh well, it’s not like they’re bad games. Though I suppose most of them aren’t too well regarded either…

Sunday Roundup: 10/16/11

I am really happy when I find a game I’ve been looking for. I’m happier when that game is cheaper than usual. And I’m happiest when said game is a fighting game. This week was accented by a very good find that I’m happy to have in my library.

Modern Classics: Marvel vs. Capcom

Capcom’s Vs. series is such a great franchise. Spider-Man vs. Ryu. Gambit vs. Mega Man. War Machine vs. Captain Commando! The frantic action and smooth animation make the game stand out amongst its competitors; there’s really nothing else quite like Marvel vs. Capcom.

Sunday Roundup: 9/25/11

A note about this week’s roundup: I enjoy buying games that are both considered classics, and games that simply look fun. Also, I’m a fan of older games, which should explain the amount of old PS1 titles here. Without further adieu…

Review: Barbarian

So a game catches my eye and I pick it up. “10 different characters each with their own massive storyline and quest,” “10 huge multi-levled fighting arenas,” and even an “RPG character upgrade system depending on experience earned.” This game seems to have everything I want in a fighter. Well, I wasn’t quite thinking straight this day. Barbarian for the PS2 is a sluggish and non-thrilling 3D fighter that has great potential but falls well short of the finish line.

Sunday Round-Up: 9/11/11

Leave it to the old PS2 to bring in a cartload of games this week. Well, also leave it to buy 2 get 2 free sales to bring in the games. And also the fact that all these games were well less than $10 each. A good variety of games, and even a Wii title, fill out this week’s Round-Up. Check them out.

Power Stone 2 is a 3D fighter from Capcom for the Sega DreamCast. An improvement over the original, Power Stone 2 is a frantic, fast-paced game that is a blast to play. Read on and relive this classic all over again.
