Review: Men in Black: Alien Crisis

11 Jun

The Men in Black have the coolest jobs. They get to interact with every alien race out there, from gigantic bugs to squid-like humanoids, and they use the most high-tech gadgets and weaponry. I mean, yeah, there’s the constant threat of Earth’s imminent destruction, the danger of getting killed any given second, and the fear of some extra terrestrials going crazy and disintegrating you, but aside from that everything’s peachy. So why isn’t being in the MIB that awesome in Men in Black: Alien Crisis for the PS3?

As far as movie games go, I wasn’t thinking this game would be anything beyond mediocre, and I was right (go figure!). MIB: Alien Crisis just doesn’t feel like Men in Black, and it’s not very fun. Worst of all, the game is extremely easy once you get hold of the controls, and it’s all over in a handful of hours. Not a good deal, any way you slice it.

The game’s first boss encounter. Strategy to victory? Keep firing aimlessly.

One saving grace about the game? It came with a voucher to see Men in Black 3 free in theaters (which was a decent movie). So that’s there…

This game looks pretty cool. I saw the movie recently and I wasn’t too impressed. The game looks cool, reminds me a lot like the old PC game Dues Ex.
